Web “Journalism” in 2021 is a joke

I’ve just had this imminent inner compelling need to write about this, for no particular reason.

DANGER AHEAD: Wrote this on a whim. I’m sure is barely readable, bear with me thank you.

90% of what a modern “Journalist” does is writing mechanically generated 300 to 500 words of uninspired text on a meaningless clickbaity supergeneric infinitesimal “”””””source””””””.

A few examples of what can be an article in 2021.

• Famous Influencer (🤮), makes a tweet, Instagram post, Tik Tok or whatever it is. (yes that’s it, I’m not even finishing the sentence.)
• A clip of a Twitch Stream, YouTube Video, Facebook live in which anyone with a spit of visibility says something that taken out of context sounds mildly controversial or slightly offensive to at least 1 person every 300.
• In a timeline where Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos or both exist. Their pure existence is content in the purest form,they don’t even need to say anything. You can literally come up with the most delirious illuminati woke conspiracy theory involving those 2 guys that is even remotely interesting. “Jeff Bezos might be a reptilian 10 reasons why”, “What will be the next scamcoin unknowingly pumped by Elon Musk”.

Everything is written with the only intent to get those 5 seconds of feeble electrical impulse between two neurons to generate enough interest to make the finger reactively press on the text and open an external website and play a bunch of ads and cookies agreement.

The funny thing is that the words are unimportant in the big picture. Whatever the “author” types, adds no value to the final product. Is there because the page can’t be a blank space with 15 ads and the picture of Jeff Bezos reptilian form. And by the way is usually written in such a smooth brain way because the reader brain is on forced standby.

The only concerns are keywords, SEO, how the preview on social medias looks, the fucking Google news visibility.

Of course there are exceptions, of course I’m generalising, but was difficult for me to evade the discussion.
